Very light winds tried the skills and patience of the skippers participating in the 2003 V32 National Championship held November 8th and 9th at Mason Park, Irvine, California. With 22 races held using a one through-out-per-day format, we fell two races short of the intended 24 races due to lack of wind late on the final day. The point-spread insured that the missing two races would probably not have effected final results.

The event, enjoyed by all, was hosted by the Orange County Model Sailing Club who provided crystal trophies for the first three places, a memento plaque for all participating skippers, paid parking and lunch. Hitec RCD USA, Inc. graciously provided a three-channel, FM radio, two servos and receiver along with hats, T-shirts and banner in support of the V32 National Championship.

The top five finishers were:

2003 V32 National Championship
Place Skipper Points
1 Mark Mason 28
2 Pete Kruse 57
3 Tom Lansberry 67
4 George Dornis 87
5 Pat Stoker 99
