Orange County Model Sailing Club (OCMSC) has an idyllic venue for competitive Radio Control (RC) sailboat racing or relaxed model boat sailing. The 9-acre lake is in one of the nation’s loveliest and in the best maintained parks that prides itself on accommodating RC skippers and RC sailboats. OCMSC has one of the countries most active model sailing schedules.
Whether you are an experienced RC skipper, model boatbuilder, or simply interested in learning more about RC sailboats, OCMSC is a great place to meet, learn and participate.

Monthly points race series are held on specific weekends for these American Model Yachting Association (AMYA) sailboat classes:
DragonFlite 95
DragonForce 65
VO70
One Meters: US1Meter, IOM, ODOM
Other OCMSC activities include Southern California Yachting Association - SCYA Midwinter Regattas, informal practice and fun sailing on Wednesdays, yearly Schooner Argosy and picnic for scale model sailing craft, as well as a Christmas Light Parade of model boats.
Here’s information you will find useful to participate in the monthly points races for the OCMSC club racing season.
Skippers’ meetings are at 11:30 am.
12 races usually finish before 3 pm.
A lunch break after race 4 and another break after race 8.
Bring your own lunch.
There is no fee to race for club members.
Guests skippers are welcome to race with the appropriate class sailboat.
Orange County charges to enter the park. Annual passes are available with discounts for seniors.
OCMSC at Mason Park is often the venue for regional and national championship regattas.

OCMSC will again host the VO70 National Championship Regatta. It will be held on Saturday- Sunday, August 24-25 at William R. Mason Regional Park, Irvine, CA. Friday, August 23 is an optional practice day.
The regatta is open to all class legal VO70 boats. It is limited to 20 skippers/boats. OCMSC will provide awards and registration.
The Regatta entry fee will be announced at a later date along with the Notice Of Race
OCMSC host the DragonForce 65 National Championship Regatta. It will be held on Saturday- Sunday, September 28-29 at William R. Mason Regional Park, Irvine, CA. Friday, August 27 is an optional practice day.
The regatta is open to all class legal DF65 boats. It is limited to 30 skippers/boats. OCMSC will provide awards and registration.
The Regatta entry fee will be announced at a later date along with the Notice Of Race

OCMSC sails on the beautiful 9-acre lake within the 339 acre Mason Regional Park. The Park offers something for every member of the family. There are ample parking lots, walking and bike paths, a wilderness hiking area, three separate toddler areas, outdoor barbeque facilities and picnic pagodas, all in the middle of Irvine, CA, one of America’s first and most successful planned communities.

If you’re not ready to become a member, you can subscribe at no charge to receive our annual schedule and updates. We welcome guest skippers to sail with us. Bring the appropriate class sailboat for the respective series we will be racing, or participate in non-racing events.
